George Wortman

George Wortman lives in Flathead County where he collects branches, logs, and driftwood to create his wooden bowls. He carves into the side of the wood he finds and polishes the sides, sometimes leaving the live edge to be admired. A variety of local woods are used, such as cherry, birch, elm, and cottonwood. George’s fine craftsmanship results in a silky smooth bowl that is as light as a feather and pleasing to the eye. The organic shapes are one-of-a-kind, with no piece being quite like any other. The warm colors and diversity of wood grains and patterns remind us of the natural beauty of Montana’s native trees. These bowls are a unique reminder of Montanan woods that will brighten up any home.
